Even though all A5 models have been extensively enhanced, Audi has barely raised prices. The A5 Coupé 2.0 TFSI, for example, now costs just 200 euros more. The entry-level version, the Audi A5 Sportback 1.8 TFSI, has a list price of 33,350 euros. The A5 Coupé with the same engine retails for 34,200 euros and the A5 Cabriolet 1.8 TFSI for 38,800 euros.

The A5 models have enjoyed great success ever since they were introduced. The Coupé has taken the lead in its segment in European core markets – the most important sales region for this model line – and in China. By late 2010, Audi had sold over 150,000 units. Thanks to its special body, the Sportback is unrivalled.

Many excellent rankings in surveys of automotive-magazine readers and automotive experts underscore the strength of this model family. For example, the renowned German Design Council honored the A5 with a 2010 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany. Audi owners are similarly amazed by the design of A5 models; indeed, design is easily the most important purchasing criterion for customers.
