Audi is launching the new A3 Sportback with a generous array of standard features. The package of restraint systems, which also includes a knee airbag for the driver, can be supplemented with side airbags in the back. The comprehensive list of standard equipment includes the Audi radio, the 60:40 split rear seat, the cargo floor that can be inserted on two levels, manual air conditioning, exterior mirrors with integrated LED side turn signals and a tire pressure indicator. Height-adjustable front seats and Isofix child seat anchor points in the rear are also standard.

The driver information system with color display is standard with the Ambition and Ambiente lines. Besides the rest recommendation function, it also includes the efficiency program with gear-change indicator. The A3 Sportback Ambition also includes sport seats, a three-spoke sport steering wheel, a sport suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels and the Audi drive select system. Halogen fog lights are integrated into the front skirt, and the tailpipes – single or double depending on the engine – are hidden behind chrome tips.

In addition to a four-spoke leather steering wheel, Ambiente comes standard with cruise control, the interior lighting package and the rear parking system. 3D glass-look inlays give the interior a sense of modern luxury, with additional accents provided by the high-gloss package, chrome entry sills and exhaust tips as well as 16-inch alloy wheels in a 15-spoke Y design.

Individual options directly from the luxury class are available in all trim lines for further customization. These include the panoramic glass sunroof, convenience key, deluxe automatic air conditioning, auxiliary heating, heated exterior mirrors, automatically dimming interior mirror with light and rain sensor, driver information system in two display versions and adaptive light with xenon plus headlights, which can be supplemented by the variable headlight range control. For the front seats, there are the lumbar supports, seat heating, a center armrest (standard in the Ambiente) and Isofix mounting points for the front passenger seat.

The Audi A3 Sportback is a true all-around talent. Its sporty, versatile and progressive character will appeal to a broad public. In many cases it will be purchased as a second car. The second-largest target group is single-car households and singles up to the age of 39, many of them women.

The new Audi A3 Sportback will begin appearing in German dealerships in February 2013, with prices starting at €23,400. The 1.2 TFSI will be available somewhat later for a base price of €22,500.
