Dr. Werner Widuckel was born on 23rd October 1958 in Salzgitter.
After taking his advanced school-level certificate 1977 in Wolfsburg, Widuckel worked in production at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg and completed his civilian service, before commencing his studies in Social Sciences at the University of Göttingen in 1979. He graduated in Social Management in 1984. He then worked as a research assistant at the Sociological Seminar of the University of Göttingen. He took his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) at the Technical University of Braunschweig in 2003.
Widuckel started his career in 1985 as personal assistant to the General and Group Works Council of Volkswagen AG. In 1991 he became Chief Coordinator of the European Group Works Council, the International Group Works Council and the General and Group Works Council of Volkswagen AG.
From 2005 on, Widuckel was Head of "Personnel Policy and Fundamental Issues" within Human Resources at AUDI AG in Ingolstadt.
From 8th December 2005 to 30th September 2010 Dr. Werner Widuckel was Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources at AUDI AG.
