Following vocational training as a fitter and graduating from the Munich University of Applied Sciences with a degree in precision engineering, Dintner began his professional career with AUDI AG in Ingolstadt in 1987. He was put in charge of the Audi TT paint shop and custom painting in 1998. In 2001, Dintner was given overall responsibility for the paint shop at the Ingolstadt plant. In addition to his work for AUDI AG, he also assumed a variety of planning and consulting duties during this period with numerous Volkswagen Group companies, including SEAT, Volkswagen South Africa, Bentley, Lamborghini and FAW-Volkswagen. At Volkswagen Saxony, Dintner oversaw construction of the paint shop and was responsible for its operation for three years while at the same time managing additional paint shop start-ups within the Group.
After leading the VW Group’s “Surface” working group (2005), Dintner transferred to Brussels in 2007. He served simultaneously as Plant Manager and Management Spokesperson of Audi Brussels, where Dintner and his management team were responsible for the launch of the Audi A1.
He joined Volkswagen de México in 2011. Furthermore, production at Puebla increased under his watch from 440,000 units to 610,000 units per year. A second production site – the engine plant in Silao – was also successfully opened under his leadership during this same period.
Dintner has served as CEO of AUDI MÉXICO S.A. de C.V. since August 1, 2014. He is responsible for the construction of the new Audi plant and the launch of the Audi Q5 successor, which is scheduled to enter production for the global market in San José Chiapa in 2016.
