Audi Hungaria: first solar cells first solar cells of the future largest PV roof system in Europe assembled
Audi Hungaria, in partnership with E.ON Hungária, has installed a solar energy park covering around 160,000 square meters on the roofs of its two logistics centers. The joint project has reached an important milestone: The first units of some 35,000 solar cells have arrived. This means Europe’s biggest roof-mounted solar system is taking shape on the Audi Hungaria factory site in Győr. It has a peak output of 12 megawatts. Generation of renewable energy will begin at the start of next year. The solar energy park will produce over 9.5 GWh of energy annually. That is sufficient to cover the annual energy consumption of 5,000 homes. Thanks to the green power from renewable sources, the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere will be cut by around 6,000 tonnes.
