A church service for Audi employees from Mexico
Around 600 Audi employees from Mexico gathered in Ingolstadt to celebrate the “Día de la Virgen de Guadalupe” with family members, friends and colleagues at a big mass in the Liebfrauenmünster church. In Mexico, December 12 is a traditional holiday marked by solemn celebrations of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The main setting for all the devotional activity is Mexico City, which expects to welcome almost seven million pilgrims journeying from all regions in the country.
In Ingolstadt, about 1,000 participants in all – Mexicans and Germans alike – accepted the invitation to congregate for the mass in the Liebfrauenmünster. “Celebrating this day together here in Germany is really a wonderful experience,” said Alfons Dintner, CEO of Audi México, at the service. “This occasion is helping our Audi México family to feel an even stronger sense of belonging. And we are also giving our German employees a chance to learn more about the cultural diversity of our new location.”
The Mexican Audi employees are currently taking part in a program in Ingolstadt to qualify for production of the Audi Q5* successor at the San José Chiapa site, which will begin in 2016.
