The new DTM Champion, René Rast, completed a veritable PR marathon in the past few days. Following the championship celebration in his hometown, he immediately traveled on to Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm. At both Audi locations, employees and fans of the brand had the opportunity to meet the new DTM Champion, get autographs and take selfies. On Thursday, Rast celebrated his 31st birthday and is now treating himself to a short vacation before numerous other PR commitments and honors are coming up in November and December. In Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm, Rast was accompanied by DTM “vice-champion” Mattias Ekström, Le Mans winner Loïc Duval and GT campaigner Markus Winkelhock who on the DTM’s final weekend had won the 8-hour race at Laguna Seca (USA) in the Audi R8 LMS.
