The Nordic Combined skiers of the German Ski Association (DSV) visited AUDI AG’s wind tunnel for their annual test. Team world champions Eric Frenzel, Fabian Rießle and Johannes Rydzek performed intensive dry runs. In addition to testing their material, the multi-eventers primarily focused on optimizing their posture. Three-time overall world cup winner (2013–2015) Eric Frenzel appreciates the practice. “This is a tremendous opportunity for us. Due to the training day at the wind tunnel, we enjoy perfect prerequisites and are able to achieve a small advantage over the competition,” said the current world champion and Olympic gold medalist. Frenzel has the chance of winning the overall world cup for the fourth consecutive time this season, equaling the record set by the Finn Hannu Manninen that is now nine years old (2004–2007). The band will begin to play this weekend (November 29/30) when the season opens in Ruka, Finland.
