Since 1993, AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. has provided important impetus for the development of the Hungarian economy and the city of Győr. The company is a fixed element of urban life, for example. For Audi Hungaria, it is only natural to promote cultural and sporting events, thus enhancing the quality of life of Győr’s citizens. The Hungarian Audi subsidiary has been a sponsor of the Győr Ballet Ensemble since 1997, and the main sponsor since 2002. It also supports various other cultural events, for example as main sponsor of the annual end-of-summer concerts in Győr.

Playing an important role in Győr’s sporting life and as part of its social involvement, the company sponsors top-level sports events which attract great interest of the inhabitants in Győr and the surrounding area. Audi Hungaria has been the main and name sponsor of the women’s handball team Győr ETO KC since 2006, and has been a sponsor of the football club Győri ETO FC since 2011.

The Audi Aréna Győr was opened in November 2014. International sport and cultural events are already being held in this newly built multi-function hall, which accommodates 5,500 spectators. It is a good example of the positive cooperation between Audi Hungaria and the City of Győr.

In addition to promoting the arts, culture and sport, the company is also active for intermediate and academic education in Hungary. In the context of the system of dual vocational training, Audi Hungaria has been successfully cooperating for many years with the Sándor Lukács Vocational College and Students’ Hall of Residence for Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering, with the Ábrahám Pattantyús Industrial Intermediate College and General Cultural Center, and with the Lajos Kossuth Industrial Intermediate College, Vocational College and Students’ Hall of Residence.

In early 2014, AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. received the vocational training prize of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DUIHK). The DUIHK recognized the company together with the Audi Academy Hungaria in the “Innovation” category. Due to the close proximity of the practical vocational training courses and the production process, the training is of a high efficiency and quality. In the context of the system of dual vocational training, 250 apprentices are currently being trained in 11 different metal-working and electrical occupations at Audi Hungaria. Following this system, more than 1,400 apprentices have completed a course of vocational training there since 2001.

In 2010, the company founded the Audi Hungaria Elementary and Intermediate School for the children of Hungarian and German employees. The school is being continuously expanded up to the twelfth-year class. When the students finish the school, they have leaving certificates recognized in Germany as well as Hungary. More than 400 Hungarian and German children started school year 2014-15 in years one to nine. For the new school year, high-school teaching also started with a language preparation class.

Since 2013, the Audi Hungaria School has been one of more than 140 German international schools with worldwide recognition, where German and Hungarian children learn together in the first class according to a Hungarian-German teaching concept. The Audi Hungaria Kindergarten is part of the Audi Hungaria School and started work on the site of the school in September 2012. In the kindergarten, German and Hungarian children are looked after in two mixed groups.

In the coming years, a modern school center for 650 children in 25 classes on the school’s site of currently about 25,000 square meters.

The Audi Hungaria Automotive Group of Professorships at the Technical Faculty of the Széchenyi István University (SZE) has professors for Internal Combustion Engines, Material Science and Technology, Automotive Manufacturing Technology and Complete Vehicle Development. The fifth was added in 2014: a professorship for Leadership and Organizational Communication. Audi Hungaria has thus taken a further step in the implementation of its personnel strategy.

Since 2014, a laboratory equipped with sophisticated measurement and analysis instruments was established on the campus of the professorship for Complete Vehicle Development at the Széchenyi István University. This lab completes the facilities offered by the University and helps to further optimize the Audi models produced in Győr.

The Audi Hungaria Group of Professorships demonstrates Audi’s specialist involvement at Széchenyi István University: The premium manufacturer is promotes the development of German-language engineering education and scientific research, and thus supports the development of next-generation specialists at Audi Hungaria. On the basis of cooperation with Audi stretching back for many years, lectures are regularly held offered by the university in both Hungarian and German.

In the context of social responsibility, the first Audi Hungaria Volunteers’ Day was organized in 2014. Approximately 300 Audi employees voluntarily engaged in 19 charitable projects in Győr and the surrounding area. The company demonstrated exemplary commitment with its first Volunteers’ Day, and it is intended to make the event into a tradition.

One of Audi Hungaria’s special concerns is to improve traffic safety. For this purpose, the company supports traffic lessons at the kindergartens in Győr. In addition, Audi Hungaria has provided the police of the Győr-Moson-Sopron region with several automobiles, which included an Audi A3 Sedan in 2013. Furthermore, since 2012, Audi Hungaria has been a partner of MOBILIS, the center of playful discovery. This interactive exhibition center has exhibits on the subject of mobility such as vehicle steering and control, energy and propulsion, and planning and production. Visitors can learn about the world of mobility and automobile production in permanent and temporary exhibitions, and can participate in numerous scientific events.
