Stephan Reil - Biography

Stephan Reil, born in 1965, studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt and Automotive Engineering in Wiesbaden. He completed his studies here as a graduate engineer and started his professional career in 1990 in the international graduate trainee program at AUDI AG.
In 1991, Reil took up a position in the area of Engine and Transmission Concept Development.
He then moved in 1996 to quattro GmbH (renamed AUDI Sport GmbH in 2016) as Division Head for Vehicle Customization, where he remained until 2017.
Reil worked here as Head of Development and Production from 1998 to 2001.
He was responsible from 2001 to 2017 for the development of all whole vehicle projects and equipment ranges of quattro/Audi Sport GmbH as well as for the customization of Audi vehicles.
In 2018, Reil moved to the staff unit of the Future Fields area of Technical Development Neckarsulm.
He assumed responsibility in 2019 for the realignment of Technical Development in Neckarsulm. Reil then took over the position of COO of Technical Development in Neckarsulm in November of the same year.
Stephan Reil has been Head of Research&Development at AUDI AG in Neckarsulm since July 2020.
