Milestones 2014: Sales record and the Lamborghini Asterion

The year 2014 was clearly the year of the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4*. With the newly-developed ten cylinder super sports car, the successor to the highly successful Gallardo, Automobili Lamborghini has redefined the benchmark in the segment. With its pure and absolute design, breathtaking dynamics and excellent quality, the Huracán delivers an unparalleled sports car experience.

The ten cylinder model Huracán LP 610-4 had its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show 2014 and has established itself as an extremely successful super sports car with more than 3,300 orders collected until the end of the year 2014. Since the start of the market introduction in the middle of the year, 1,137 units were delivered to customers.

Since the beginning of the century and as a result of ongoing high investments into the model range as well as into technological innovations Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. has found itself on a continous ascent. In 2014, the super sports car manufacturer increased its customer deliveries from 2,121 to 2,530 units.

2014 was the fourth year of sales increases in a row. With 1,128 units of the Lamborghini Aventador sold, it also marked a new record year of V12 sales. “In 2014, Lamborghini delivered a very satisfying performance, confirming again the strength of our brand, product and commercial strategy”, said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. “Sales grew 19 percent compared to the previous year. We increased sales in all our major regions”, continued Winkelmann. “Our biggest markets are the USA and Greater China. They are followed by the Middle East, UK, Japan and Germany which each registered significant growth in 2014.”

With the brands first plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 presented at the 2014 Paris Mondial de l’Automobile, Lamborghini also gave an outlook to the future. Clearly a Lamborghini, Asterion is a conceptual car housing a plug-in hybrid powertrain designed to Lamborghini objectives: The Asterion defines a solution to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions through technologies available today, guaranteeing the unique Lamborghini driving feel with smooth and reactive driveability and superior power.
