So far, Audi has invested €576 million in plant and infrastructure and further investment is planned for the coming years. The workforce continues to grow and more than 2,500 people are meanwhile employed at Audi Brussels.

Series production of the Audi A1 started in May 2010, start of production of the Audi A1 Sportback was in November 2011, the Audi A1 quattro was added in June 2012 and the Audi S1 has been built in Brussels since May 2014.

In a letter of intent in the year 2007, the management and the trade unions together defined the conditions for good cooperation. A key element is the so-called working-time account, which was introduced at Audi Brussels in 2010. Already tried and tested at the German Audi sites, it offers the company and its employees significantly more flexibility and also includes a job guarantee until 2016.

The partner colleges KTA Pro Technica Halle and Don Bosco Woluwe Saint-Pierre and Audi signed cooperation agreements in the presence of Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo and the education ministers of the French and Flemish communities, Marie-Dominique Simonet and Pascal Smet.

The pre-series center has proven its worth with its unique form of organization. It was opened on the plant site in 2009 and connects the areas of production and technical development, thus ensuring the high quality of the Audi A1. The pre-series center guarantees the smooth operation of production.

More than 15,000 visitors have experienced the production of the Audi A1 from close up. Audi Brussels has offered the opportunity to view the plant since June 2010, with several plant tours taking place daily from Monday to Friday. Interested persons can register for the guided tours through an online reservation system at www.audibrussels.com.
