In June 2012, the decision was taken at Audi Brussels to start the “dual training” pilot project at the Brussels site. The partner colleges and Audi signed the cooperation agreements in the presence of Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo and the education ministers of the French and Flemish communities, Marie-Dominique Simonet and Pascal Smet. 26 trainees have since started their training to become plant technicians. The system of “dual training” for the first time allows the trainees to carry out part of their training at the company. In this context, Audi Brussels is cooperating with the Flemish college KTA Pro Technica Halle and the francophone college Don Bosco Woluwe Saint-Pierre. This innovative project gives trainees the opportunity to gain more practical experience during their training courses. Another goal of the project is recruit more young people for an attractive technical training course in Belgium.
