The readers of the magazine “auto motor und sport” have voted Audi to three first places in the “Best Cars 2016” poll. The Audi A1 was crowned the best small car, the Audi A4 emerged winner of the “Midsize” category and the Audi Q7 was the most impressive model among the “Large SUVs”.
Audi emerged from the “Auto Trophy 2015” reader poll of the magazine AUTO ZEITUNG as the most successful brand, with five awards. At this year’s awards ceremony, four of the coveted trophies went to the models Audi A1, Audi A3, Audi Q7 and Audi R8. The brand with the four rings also topped the poll category of “Best Design Worldwide”.
The Audi A3*, the premium compact bestseller from the brand with the four rings, is the 2014 World Car of the Year. This is the second overall title for Audi in the ten year history of the World Car of the Year Awards as the Audi A6 won the inaugural overall title in 2005.

Safety has a long tradition at Audi: 75 years ago, DKW engineers rolled a subcompact F7 down a hill in the interest of safety and caused a controlled rollover. Since this first crash test at DKW, one of the four brands from which Audi was created, Audi has regularly claimed the spotlight with new safety features.
Audi has unveiled the brand’s most fuel-efficient production model. With 81 kW (110 hp) of power output, the Audi A3 1.6 TDI ultra consumes just 3.2 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers (73.50 US mpg). This equates to an astounding 85 grams of CO2 emissions per kilometer (136.79 g/mile). This versatile marvel of fuel economy is now for sale. Customers can take delivery of the Audi A3 1.6 TDI ultra starting in September. The base price in Germany will be 25,200 euros.
Audi is the first carmaker to bring the fast LTE data transfer standard to the car with full integration. It can be ordered as an option in the Audi S3 Sportback from July, and in all other model variants of the premium compact from early November. LTE technology is very important for Audi connect, the networking of the car with the driver, the Internet and the environment.
Audi is now building on its lead in the domain of lighting technology with a world first: The Audi Matrix LED headlights will make their debut on the new A8, which is appearing on the market at the end of 2013. Audi, the technology leader in this field, is thus opening a new chapter in automotive lighting technology.
The Euro NCAP consortium has awarded the new Audi A3 the maximum five-star rating for passive crash safety. The results for adult occupant protection in a frontal, rear, and side impact as well as child safety and pedestrian protection make the new Audi A3 one of the safest cars in its class.
